The challenge
Each show has its own audience, language, and set of brand rules to respect, from Maker Faire Tokyo's maker crowd to Automate's industrial buyers and Embedded World's academic and engineering attendees. The creative has to read as unmistakably DigiKey while still feeling native to the event and the region — and it has to work on a 375×187 web banner and on a screen-printed tee.
Approach
I build each event around one visual hook, then extend it across every touchpoint. For Maker Faire Tokyo's Make ONE Challenge I built a numeral '1' out of electronic component icons — a graphic that works as a shirt print, a fan, a tote, and a QR-driven activation. For Automate I used an angular photo mask and a deep navy field to make the booth details legible at ad scale. Regional pieces get proper localization, not just translated copy, and every show ships with a matching digital ad set so the online invite and the on-floor experience feel like one campaign.
Outcome
DigiKey walks into each global show with a complete, on-brand kit — ads that drive booth traffic, and merch that people wear and keep long after the show closes.
